Gluten Free Options

Gluten refers to the proteins found in wheat. Some people are gluten-intolerant, meaning their bodies produce an abnormal immune response when it breaks down gluten from wheat and related grains during digestion. The most well-known form of gluten intolerance is celiac disease. When someone with celiac disease consumes gluten, it triggers an immune response that damages their intestines, preventing them from absorbing vital nutrients. Other people don’t have celiac disease, but simply choose to avoid gluten in their diet.

Fortunately, The Salad Spot has a great variety of foods that are gluten free!  Most of the basic salad ingredients are fresh vegetables. We use quinoa – a gluten-free grain-like seed – in several of our salads and soups.  The Salad Spot also has fantastic prepared salads, entrees, and soups that are gluten free.  We list all the ingredients for each, so you know exactly what you’re eating.
